Notes for ELIJAH WITT:

Elijah served as a private (#203854) in the militia in Washington Co NC during the Revolutionary War. One account list his rank as captain  in Jefferson Co.  In 1801, Elijah and his son Daniel were riding Horseback and the horse became frightened, throwing Elijah against a tree, killing him.  Daniel was also thrown, but escaped uninjured.

Elijah served as a private (#203854) in the militia in Washington Co NC during the Revolutionary War. One account list his rank as captain  in Jefferson Co.  In 1801, Elijah and his son Daniel were riding Horseback and the horse became frightened, throwing Elijah against a tree, killing him.  Daniel was also thrown, but escaped uninjured.
