The following story was written down by Fae Douglas.
John Henry was born in middle Tennessee on April 2, 1862. His father's name was Henry B. Douglas, born 1828 in Tennessee. Nelie Seymore says his mother was a Cherokee Squaw. According to Hopkins County Obituary , at the time of his death, John Henry had one brother named Robert Lee Douglas. He had one step-brother and two step-sisters. The newspaper obituary was placed by Jennie Douglas. Among her papers she found a note which stated that John Henry swam across the Mississippi River at the age of 14years, about 1876.
He met and married Modessa Bell Robertson in Cooper, Texas. They were married on April 25, 1887. They had eleven children. The first eight were born in Cooper, Texas. The last three were born in Hopkins County, Texas.
They bought sixteen acres, which are now owned by Fae Douglas. Billy Wayne told Fae several times that John traded a wagon and a team of mules for the land. John Henry died on May 12, 1935. At the time of his death, he lived on what is known as The Turner Place. People by the name of McKee, owns the place know.
After his death, Aubrey built a house on the place. He lived there with Modessa until she became ill and had to move to Dallas. She lived with Laveda. This was about 1945. Aubrey moved to Dallas a short time later. After Modessa died, Daddy-Pop his brothers and sisters share of the 16 acre place.

William Andrew Cook had a very hard life. He was married four times. His first wife was Martha Elen Neal. They had seven children together. However only one of them lived past the age of five years. She died in 1907.
His second wife was Nannie Waller. Together they had four children of which only two lived past the age 2 years old. Nannie died on March 28, 1928. They were living in Dallas at the time.
His third wife was Tillie. This didn't last long. Before 1936 they divorced. They had no children. In 1936 he moved to Arbala to be near Ester Mary.
On October 3, 1936 he married Lillian Inez Douglas. He had one child WA. Inez was 23 when they married. She had one child, Nawana Lee. William was 62 years old. William was 15 years older than Inez's father.
He had his first child at age 23 and he was 64 when his last child was born. He had 12 children all together, however eight of them died prior to reaching the age of 2.
He broke his back in 1938. A tree had fallen on him and knocked him into a river. Inez, who was pregnant with WA at the time, pulled him out and up to a road. He had a large round scar in the middle of his back which looked like a big hole. His occupations were a farmer and a framer. He died in his sleep from heart failure. He was 86 years old.

Internment will follow the services in Restlawn Memorial Park with Talley Bell, Mike Miesse, Billy Ray Douglas ,Larry Argenbright, Thomas Seymore, Sam Hershey, Joel Dougan and Ricky Birchfield serving as pall-bearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Seymore died at 4:30 a.m. Monday Sept. 20, 1999 in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 10, 1921, in the Seymore Community, the daughter of Charlie and Mae Darlin Douglas. She married Elmer Seymore on December 21, 1939 in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in Death in 1991. Mrs. Seymore was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Shannon Oaks Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Lesley Seymore of Pineville LA, two grandchildren, Craig A. Seymore and Alicia A. Day; and two great grandchildren.
Mrs Seymore was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jess Douglas, Lawrance Douglas, and Billy Wayne Douglas; and one sister, Lillian Inez Cook.

Graveside services for O.B. Day, 86, of Italy were held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Seymore Cemetery with David Stites officiating under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Day died at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday June 11, 2002, at his residence.
He was born on August 26, 1915, in Martin Springs, to Barney and Birdie Ethel Douglass Day. He married Francis Modine Clayton on June 23, 1934, in Yantis. She preceded him in death in 1996.
Mr. Day was a retired cement mason in Dallas. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include one son, Alton Day, of Italy; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Day.
